BOURNE HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA
Welcome to Bourne High School's Drama and Theater Arts Program! The Bourne High School Drama Program produces three main stage productions each school year during the months of November, March and April.
Our November production this year will be Fiddler on the Roof! This beloved musical, with music from songwriters Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, heartfelt story from book writer Joseph Stein, and the legendary choreography of .Jerome Robbins, is sure to touch audiences of all ages. Fiddler on the Roof is the story of Tevye the milkman, and his efforts to protect his daughters and his way of life from a changing world. Fiddler on the Roof was the winner of 9 TONY Awards when it debuted in 1964.
Production Dates are November 13, 14 and 15.
In March, we will again compete in the Massachusetts High School State Drama Festival, also serving as a regional host for the preliminary round of competition. This year’s date for the preliminary round of competition is February 27, 2016. Our entry piece this year will be William Inge's Picnic, winner of the 1953 Pulitzer Prize and the Critics Circle Award.
And finally, we are excited to announce that our spring production will be Stephen Schwartz's musical extravaganza, Pippin! With an infectiously unforgettable score, Pippin has been successfully produced on stages ranging from High School to Broadway. Pippin will captivate and appeal to everyone who is "young at heart."
Our 2015-2016 school year promises to be an exciting year. We are looking forward to producing quality and entertaining theater for the community to enjoy.
